OUTREACH  - PASSING ON GOD’S LOVE TO OTHERS  

We know God loves us with no strings attached.  That’s the love we want to pass on to others.   There’s a song that we sing with the words,

                   It only takes a spark to get a fire going

                    And soon all those around can warm up to its glowing.

                    That’s how it is with God’s love,

                    Once you’ve experienced it.

                    You spread his love to everyone,

                    YOU WANT TO PASS IT ON! 

During the 30+ years of Fellowship, we have remained focused on reaching out to others in need of our help and PASSING ON GOD’S LOVE.     

We are a small group but our outreach is BIG, for example:

·       Raised $1,400 for the ELCA Stand with Africa campaign

·       Filled and distributed 20 food baskets at Thanksgiving

·       Maintain an Emergency Food Pantry

·       Sponsor a child in Appalachia

·       Provided a year’s camping trip fees for a special needs Boy Scout

·       Christmas caroling for shut-ins/ also furnish sermon

·       Donation to the Detroit Rescue Mission

·       M-CREST Project

·       Car seats purchased for single moms at Compassion Pregnancy Center

·       Filled personal care bags for Lutheran Social Services

·       Created 100 Literacy Bags containing read-aloud books and a cloth toy for single moms at Compassion Pregnancy Center

·       Giving Tree Christmas Project for homebound seniors

·        Sponsored young people for church camp

 AND THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER PROJECTS TOO!

Where we saw a need, we worked to address it.   Other projects have included:   Habitat for Humanity; $5,000 to help a woman from Mexico with cancer treatment costs; donations of shoes and clothing to Lutheran World Relief; making sandwiches for a homeless shelter; Animal Ark Project; donations to Turning Point, Red Cross, Black Churches, Ronald McDonald House, CLEVE, Kids Zone; donations for disaster relief within the United States as well as in other countries; free use of our building for service organizations.
