Women's Guild

“Small, but mighty” best describes the Women’s Group at Fellowship!   Our mission is outreach and assisting the church and the pastor.  We meet the 2^nd Monday of each month, September – June, at the church, in the Education Room.  The time is 7:30 p.m.  Heading the group is Lorraine Ellwood, assisted by Penny Culver.    All women are welcome!

Our annual organizational meeting takes place in September. At this meeting we elect officers and formulate a plan for the year - it’s an open forum with suggestions coming from everyone. The atmosphere is relaxed.  Lots of laughter here!

Some ongoing projects involve providing the congregation with a light brunch on Fellowship Sunday, the last Sunday of each month.   Fundraising throughout the year helps support the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund  -   money given to families in need.   Personal care bags for residents of Luther Haven are made each year and then filled by members of the congregation.  The Women’s Group provides and distributes a gift on Christmas Eve to each family.   We handle the congregational phone fan-out.  We care for the altar.  We plant flowers every spring.

We are an active group with varied activities. Through the years, the Women’s Group has been involved in such things as:

·         Projects for special needs children and adults

·         Compassion Pregnancy Center – literacy initiative (100 bags containing read-aloud children’s books and a cloth toy delivered to single moms), car seats

·         Sandwiches for a homeless shelter

·         MCREST

·         School supplies for immigrant children

·         Church cleaning and sewing

·         Sponsoring the church picnic

·         Holiday craft making

·         Making ornaments for the church Christmas tree

·         Buying song books and furniture

·         Easter Sunday brunch – an annual affair

·         Making church banners

·         Church picture directory

·         Welcome mugs for visitors

·         Visits to nursing homes and senior centers

·         Special events for children such as a Halloween Party

The Women of Fellowship are partners with God, doing His work in a joyful way.
